Vairocana’s serene face is painted with cold gold and pigments, his jewellery and crown are inlaid with turquoise, his chignon is topped with a finial shaped like vajra placed horizontally.
His hands are held in a gesture specific to him: the right hand is closed around the forefinger of the left hand, this makes it easy to identify him.
The above has a flaming jewel finial on his chignon and his crown is decorated with large bows.
Vairocana may have a buddha appearance. His hands display the ‘turning the wheel of dharma‘ gesture.
