Maitreya is seated with a leg pendant on a double-lotus base, his gentle smiling face has a square shape and broad features. He holds a pot of water in his left hand.
Here the bodhisattva and buddha-of-the-future is seated on a single lotus over a rocky formation. He has an oval face with a sharp nose more often seen on Kashmiri sculptures but the way his lower garment is draped and fastened is typical of the Swat Valley area.
There is a circular halo behind his head on both examples.
