This masterpiece depicts the famous teacher Dölpopa Sherab Gyaltsen (1292-1361), often referred to as Dölpopa. He wears tight fitting monastic garments topped with a thin meditation cloak. His robe arrangement leaves part of his right breast  uncovered, which is an unusual feature. His square face is framed by the pointed hat of the Sakya order. He holds a  rosary in his left hand.
