The 5th karmapa, Deshin Shekpa, is sitting in the lotus position, his hands doing the wheel of dharma or dharmacakra mudra, the stem of lotuses springing from his elbows.

Here we see him sitting on an animal skin over a square cushion, wrapped in a richly incised robe.
